reflection:
i let the summer get away on me and now need to get back into designing my blog.
blogs will be useful in reflecting how things are going with students. i am a bit concerned that students may become too familiar with using it and may mis-use the medium (like texting). i think multiple blogs, maybe by chapter, will help keep them relevant and useful.
using blogger will simplify the explanation of how to use my blog. i don't want to become an expert in platforms and google products generally serve me well.
Welcome back! I like your video - I still remember the quadratic formula from my high school days, but a video like this would have made it much easier to memorize in the first place. Can you see yourself using a blog as a teacher's way to communicate information, or more of a way to interact with students? Would you have students blog, or follow your blog to keep up in your class? I think you're right that students might be a little too comfortable with blogging and post comments without realizing how public and permanent they can be.
